At the mercy of craftsmen

When you don't have a gift for practical matters, such as carpentry, painting and the likes, you are now and then bound to find yourself completely at the mercy of professional craftsmen. And it's just as tiresome and frustrating every time.

Because they are BUSY! They are constantly wanted by everybody, and you have to stand in line, you have to call them and say please, please, come to our house this week!
And their services are all inter-linked; the plumber can't do his part until the painter has been there, and the plater can't finish his work until the carpenter has done this or that part.

Well, well. Today, as a matter of fact, marks the middle - the deepest pit! - of what I refer to as "the negative semi-annum", the horrible half year between October 15 and April 15. The two toughest months are surely ahead of us, but have faith, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
